From agony to ecstasy in the space of five days.
West Ham United recorded a sensational victory against Tottenham on Wednesday evening to progress to the last eight of the Carabao Cup and put to bed the horrific result against Brighton last Friday evening.
For a while however, it looked as if yet another game had slipped out of West Ham’s grasp. First half goals from Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli seemed to condemn the Hammers to yet another shocking defeat.
However, out of absolutely nowhere, Slavan Bilic’s men excelled in the second period and scored three goals to complete a remarkable comeback.
This result is likely to take some serious pressure off the Hammers boss, who was quickly losing fans with his teams’ abject displays. However, if the club can take this level of performance into upcoming fixtures, they could turn their season around.
After the game, West Ham fans were quick to take to Twitter, praising what they had just seen from their beloved club…
