Controversy seems to follow Newcastle United around these days, particularly when it comes to transfer funds and owner Mike Ashley.
On this occasion, though, there seems to have been some problems within the team, if certain reports are to be believed.
Question marks were raised on Sunday when Jamaal Lascelles failed to make the team for the visit of Chelsea, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Magpies at St James’ Park.
The official club line was that the captain had suffered and injury, and now according to the Daily Mail, the centre-back had a bust-up with teammate Matt Ritchie on the training field.
The publication claims that Ritchie took issue with Lascelles questioning Rafael Benitez’s tactics, and he made his feelings known during a training session.
It is believed that the tension spilled into the dressing room, with Lascelles confronting Ritchie, resulting in the pair being pulled apart.

This latest development has got Newcastle fans talking, but plenty of them believe that the incident has been sensationalised by Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, who broke the story.
