Liverpool fans may not have been in the best of moods waking up on Thursday morning with all the fallout from the Virgil van Dijk saga still fresh in their minds.
However, there was solace to come in the form of summer signing Dominic Solanke.
The striker, who will officially join the club at the start of July after running down his contract at Premier League rivals Chelsea, was on form for the England U20s at the World Cup in South Korea as he scored twice to help the Young Lions come back from 1-0 down against Italy and reach the final for the first time in history.

Reds fans were in need of a bit of excitement to cheer them up after the club announced that they would be ending their interest in the much fancied Van Dijk, and it seems Solanke’s brace has given them just that with those in the red half of Merseyside desperate to see him at Anfield come the new season…
