As reported in an exclusive by The Express, Arsenal face fresh interest from a European giant for their star striker Alexis Sanchez.
What’s the story?
The Gunners now appear to be entertaining a cavalcade of European clubs vying for the signature of the Chilean superstar.
AC Milan are the latest to show interest according to The Express, ready to pay £45m in the summer to land the red hot attacker.
Alexis Sanchez is said by the paper to be stalling on a new contract, wanting more than the £180,000 per week on offer from Arsenal.
Star man
Alexis Sanchez has banged in an incredible 19 goals in all competitions so far this season, playing a massive part in Arsenal’s campaign as they compete on three fronts.
That firepower is worth mega money in the Premier League and if Arsenal want to keep him and get him to sign a new contract then they’re likely going to have to open the chequebook.
He’s well on course to have his best season in an Arsenal shirt and perhaps the best season of his career. The most league goals he’s ever scored in one season was 19, for Barcelona in La Liga the year before he moved to London.
Also contributing a massive 11 assists in Arsenal colours this term, it’s clear that the Gunners can’t afford to lose this lethal and creative force.
